About this Event
We are privileged to welcome as a participant, Dr. Andrew Rakeman, V.P. of Research for the Lustgarten Foundation, who will provide a brief research update to all attendees. The Lustgarten Foundation is the world’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research.
In this follow-up book, Strahs-Lorenc shares what has happened in the lives of these families after the passing of their loved ones, and the one contributor who is a survivor of this very deadly disease. Their stories illustrate that life goes on, not as these families had planned, but in ways that may have surprised them. Each chapter helps the reader understand the changes that can occur, and the strength that they have inside of them.
“We all lose parents, siblings, children, spouses. We need to have support for us to ‘move on.’ We need to feel that we are not alone,” Strahs-Lorenc says. “In addition, pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer and this book supports 100% research and funding for an eventual cure, early detection and treatment.”
